The Care Company have been trading for 5 years (4 years as Kare Plus Stafford before we left the franchise network).

The business is a healthcare agency that has 3 divisions: Agency nurses and carers who work in nursing and care homes, Community care workers supporting people living in their own homes and we also recruitment permanent staff for the care homes we supply.

We have an office in Gnosall near Stafford and are now pleased to announce the arrival of our 2nd office in Burslem, Stoke on Trent. Our office is a spacious suite in a bone china factory: we treat all our customers and staff with care……. as the factory we will be based in treats its bone china!

There are many adverts currently for similar roles in the Stoke on Trent area. I want to help you make the right decision for your next career move. Please note the word “career” not “job”.  You need to feel comfortable working in a family environment where your opinion matters and you can shape both your job role and how we operate- we need initiative. This is a brand new office for us and although we run a structured operation and have robust policies and procedures in place but there is always room for improvement.

You therefore need to be willing to change as the business grows. If you’re a person that prefers to follow instruction at work each day you may be better placed working within one of the larger national companies.

We need to recruit a lively, confident person who can recruit staff for all divisions and carry out the essential administration associated with recruiting staff and then ensuring their HR files are compliant once they are out at work. As well as co-ordinating applicants and new recruits you will initially be responsible for co-ordinating general administration tasks. Once the business grows then the office support team will grow with it!

Outline of role responsibilities:

  • General office administration

  • Telephone pre-screening of applicants

  • Interviewing of care workers

  • Administration associated with clearance for work process e.g. DBS applications

  • Compliance of HR & training files of all staff working at and out of the Burslem office

  • Co-ordinating training of new staff

  • Co-ordinating office functions in conjunction with office managers to ensure smooth transition for new starters going out to work


So what do we need from you?

  • Ability to work from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday

  • Outgoing personality

  • Sense of humour

  • Excellent telephone manner

  • Clearly spoken English

  • Good organisational skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a changing environment

  • Knowledge of the care sector or willingness to learn it

  • Ideally previous knowledge of staff recruitment

  • Knowledge of Stoke on Trent and surrounding areas and towns

  • Be of a smart appearance

  • Current operating knowledge of word, excel and ability to learn other packages and applications

  • Ability to type

  • Clearly written English

  • GCSE English & Maths (grade A-C)

  • Car driver and car owner

  • £9.00/hour for 1st 6 weeks of probation period (= £21,060 per annum)
